Tudou's video library is comprised of user generated videos, premium licensed content and programming developed in-house.
User generated videos are the foundation of Tudou. Everyday Tudou.com receives tens of thousands of video uploads adding to our library of unique content which ranges from kids dancing to edgy animations. Dedicated to supporting China’s independent video production community in China, we have organized since 2008 an annual "Tudou Video Festival" each spring that has become a signature industry event. For premium licensed content, we have cooperated with many professional content partners in promoting their programming to Tudou’s large audience. Our top tier Chinese and international content partners include China Film Group, Polybona, Shanghai Film Group, Enlight Pictures, BTV, SMG, SBS, MBC, SET, StarTV and aTV.
Beginning in 2010, we launched Orange Box , our in-house original content production facility, and Warehouse No.6, a talent recruitment program designed for selecting and recruiting talents for our in-house content production, including actors, actresses, directors, screenwriters, editors and producers. These initiatives are aimed at developing and enhancing “made-for-Internet” drama series and other independent “made-for-Internet” content. Building upon these initiatives, in October 2010, we debuted our first drama series That Love Comes, which generated approximately 40 million video views as of December 31, 2010. In April 2011, we launched our second drama series, Utopia Office, on our website. One of our content production principles is to produce and provide content that is “Of the Web, By the Web, For the Web.”
